Dream Communities’ Team Hammerhead
To Build Pasco Building Association’s
2005 Showcase Home at The Groves to Benefit
All Children’s Hospital and PBA
Combining the efforts of countless volunteers,
contractors and designers over the course
of the summer, Florida
Dream Communities, Inc., owners/developers
of The Groves Golf & Country Club
will make a dream in the shape of a house
come true. Building a miracle from the
ground up, Team Hammerhead, a group of
contractors and sub-contractors volunteering
their materials and services will create
the Showcase Home. Proceeds from the
home benefit Pasco Building Association’s
Charitable Fund with this year’s
prime recipient being All Children’s
Hospital.
Showcase Homes from past years have
raised thousands of dollars for All Children’s
Hospital and Children’s Pediatric
Cancer Research projects. The goal for
this year’s Showcase Home is to
surpass past year’s donations and
raise the bar for future Showcase Home
builders.
It’s not just the beauty of the
home on Shaddock Place in The Groves
that makes it noteworthy. Over one hundred
and thirty vendors and sub-contractors
of Florida Dream Communities have been
invited to participate in a fund-raising
drive to benefit All Children’s
Hospital by donating goods and services
to the project. The FDC Hamlin III is
under construction with a proposed completion
in October 2005.
The award-winning designs of the home,
plus the quality craftsmanship and outstanding
talents of the many hands that will take
part in the venture, ensure the success
of the campaign.
Nita Beckwith, Executive Director of
the Pasco Building Association states "The
enthusiasm and energy exhibited right
now by Florida Dream Communities’ employees
in the beginning stages inspire members
and associates of the Pasco Building
Association to get out and work hard
for the project."
The Groves Golf & Country Club will
host a summer of stimulating and creative
events that will also afford the Land
O' Lakes community and her residents
the opportunity to participate in the
excitement.
A groundbreaking barbecue, set to coincide
with All Children’s Hospital’s
annual telethon and fundraising drive
will be held at The Groves on June 10,
2005 near the location of the home-site
to raise awareness for the need of contributors
and volunteers. County commissioners
and other dignitaries and volunteers
will receive their official Team Hammerhead
t-shirt and hat during the event and
might even be encouraged to hit a nail
or two. The event is by invitation only
but future events soon to be announced
are open to the public.
Sara Nakamine, Sales and Marketing Director
for Florida Dream Communities, Inc.,
and Project Coordinator for the Showcase
Home said, "Look for an exciting
summer at the Groves. This community
has always been willing to do for others
and the entire Land O' Lakes area residents
readily chip in and help out when we
run up the SOS flag. Local papers will
be out on point for us during this undertaking
keeping readers informed on events and
opportunities to volunteer. Before this
home is complete, I expect there to be
a large number of Hammerheads who have
given of their valuable time and materials
and helped make the program successful."
